Mission Statement

The Montclare lab is dedicated to forwarding the goals of inclusivity, diversity and racial justice in sciences and engineering. We actively endeavor to foster an environment of inclusivity for historically underrepresented groups in science technology engineering and mathematics (STEM). We firmly believe that it is our responsibility as scientific leaders to create a safe space for people from different backgrounds, color, beliefs, religions, nationalities, socio-economic status and more. We strongly support black, indigenous and people of color (BIPOC), lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning (or queer) (LGBTQ) and women. We uphold a zero tolerance policy towards racist, homophobic, transphobic, and sexist attitudes and behavior. To these ends, we pledge to actively engage the community through outreach and to provide a platform for diverse voices (BIPOC, LGBTQ and women) to be heard and celebrated.
